Abstract

|
|
Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) is a heterogeneous group of rare disorders characterized by blood and tissue eosinophilia accompanied by eosinophil-driven tissue damage and dysfunction.
Clinical manifestations of HES are highly variable, as it is a multisystem disorder involving nearly all organs, but the skin, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract are the most common sites. Identifying and diagnosing HES is challenging because it requires the diagnostic elimination of many eosinophilic conditions, so a detailed stepwise approach should be considered.
